Global Health Alliance Mission
Our strategic partnerships seek to promote transcultural health
opportunities and outcomes. Our intent is to assist developing
countries to deliver improvement in maternal and child health
through enhanced capability and capacity in the nursing and
midwifery workforce in underserved populations.
In line with the World Health Organisation (WHO) agenda, GHAWA
aims to:
- Enhance partnerships with developing countries through support
and collaboration, including working with other international
organisations, consumers, regulators, governments, professional
organisations, and other relevant bodies to promote the development
of robust health systems to ensure quality of care provision.
- Strengthen health care systems by assisting in building
leadership capacity in developing countries through the provision
of resources and innovative education and leadership programs for
nurses and midwives.
- Harness and generate research, information and evidence to
provide Western Australia and developing countries the foundation
for setting priorities for workforce and health system development,
defining strategies toward this, and measuring results.
- Promote and support Western Australia and developing countries
in the advancement of nursing and midwifery practice, notably with
respect to transcultural competencies that might be applied both
within international and domestic settings.
